Services for Effie E. Varvel, 75, Coldwater, Ohio, were held Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. The sister of a Fort Recovery woman, she died Sunday at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
Born in Chattanooga, Tenn., to Jesse and Nancy (Stoll) Fifer, she is survived by her second husband Harry Varvel.
Preceding her in death in 1989 was her first husband Donald Schwieterman.
A member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, she had worked at the former Huffy Plant in Celina, Ohio.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a son; a daughter; two stepsons; three stepdaughters; a sister, June Laux, Fort Recovery; two brothers; two grandsons; 12 stepgrandchildren; 20 stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law and a brother-in-law.
Memorials may be sent to State of the Heart Hospice.
