Union Chapel Church of the Nazarene will host a Block Party from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Pennville Park. There will be free food, games and prizes.

Portland First Church of the Nazarene will have the vacation Bible school program “Agency D3” Monday through Thursday, July 31, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Children, ages three to sixth grade, are welcome.

Program and banquet
The closing program for vacation Bible school “Sontreasure Island” will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene. The church is located at 401 E. Boundary St. An Island Banquet will follow the program in the Family Center. A covered dish is welcome, but not necessary.  

Movie night
Evangelical Methodist Church will have a Community Movie Night on Friday, Aug. 8, with the showing of the movie “God’s Not Dead.” Refreshments will be served.

Free meal
Bread of Life Community Family Meal will be served Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 204 E. Arch St., in Portland.
Everyone is welcome to share a meal and conversation. The meal this week will be prepared and served by Asbury United Methodist Church.

Jay County Re-Awakening prayer groups meet each Thursday at 7 p.m. This week the groups are asked to pray for Portland First Church of the Nazarene and its pastor Mike Clark. Also pray for church board members and Sunday and Discipleship Ministry board.
