Fourth celebration set
The public is invited to a Fourth of July celebration on Sunday at the schoolhouse in Salamonia Park.
Group is back from mission trip
A group from a local church that made a difference in people’s lives in Kentucky hopes to bring that experience back to Portland and show God’s love to the community.
Movie nights scheduled
Two churches are hosting movie nights.
Special service set
Father’s Day Services at Hopewell of Life Ministries will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday with the ladies in charge. Lunch will follow and there will be no Sunday school.
Calvary hosting children's program
Calvary United Methodist Church will have the Vacation Bible School program “Deep Sea Discovery” for children ages 4 through sixth grade.
Hopewell hosting missionary
Hopewell of Life Ministries will take a week off from its regular Wednesday Bible study to hear a presentation from a missionary.
VBS is set at two churches
Two area churches will host vacation Bible school during the first full week of June.

Friday Fun Night will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at Evangelical Methodist Church, 930 W. Main St. in Portland.
Concert set for Sunday
A Portland church will host a free concert Sunday.
Services will honor moms
Mothers will be honored during the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at Fort Recovery Church of the Nazarene, 401 E. Boundary St.
Tabernacle will perform Sunday
Wesleyan Tabernacle (formerly the Gospel Lighthouse), in Portland will have a homecoming on Sunday in honor of the 86th anniversary of the Tabernacle revivals.
Christianaires to perform
The Christianaires quartet will perform a concert at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Collett Church of the Nazarene, located at the corner of 100 West and 450 South.
Revival starts Friday
Evangelical Methodist Church will host revival services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with Pastor Herb Hummel as the evangelist.
